Edward Bednarek, late of Hegewisch, Oct. 30, 2002, he is survived by a son Alan CPD (Therese CPD) Bednarek; a sister Carol (late Dominic) Caporale; and two grandsons Jeff and Brian. Preceded in death by his wife Virginia; two brothers Steve Bednarek, Albin (Reggie) Bednarek and a sister Sophie (late John) Jamrock. Services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. from the Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 Baltimore Ave., Chicago to St. Columba Church for 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2 to 9 p.m. Mr. Bednarek retired from Pullman Standard in Hammond and was a WWII Navy Veteran. 773-646-1133 .
