A Chicago man was charged Saturday in the shooting death of a security guard in a South Side fast-food restaurant, authorities said.
Brian McCullum, 33, of the 600 block of South State Street was charged with first-degree murder Saturday in the death of Mario Davey, a guard at the White Castle restaurant at 1550 E. 79th St., said Jerry Lawrence, a spokesman with the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
Davey, 47, of the 4600 block of West 47th Street was a veteran guard at the restaurant and a supervisor at Ranger Security. He was shot in the hand and head about 3:50 a.m. Friday, said Chicago police spokeswoman JoAnn Taylor.
Davey, a father of two, was pronounced dead at the scene about 5:15 a.m. Taylor said police have no motive.
McCullum is scheduled to appear in Violence Court on Sunday for a bond hearing, Lawrence said.
