– An FP7A “streamliner” engine built in the early 1950s will be used to pull dining cars for excursions by the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad, which offers 15-mile rides through the Des Moines River Valley on trains led by steam and diesel locomotives. Donors have provided $40,000 of the $65,000 purchase price from a Florida company. The engine is being painted yellow to carry the colors of the Chicago & North Western Railway.
