Helen A. Beres, age 86 of Lansing, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2002. Beloved wife of Micheal J.; loving mother of Michael (Karen), Veronica (Dave) Surprenant, Christie (Donald) Bis and John Beres; dear grandmother of Patrick (Flo) O’Connor, Tim (Beth) O’Connor, James O’Connor, Jason (Jessica) Bis, Jessica (John) Wutz, Nicole Beres, Alaina Beres and John M. Beres; fond sister of James (late Evelyn) Pasztor, Steve (Lou) and Andrew (Margaret). She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Barbara Pasztor; two sisters, Mary Cadwell and Emma (the late Joseph) Kmootek; son-in-law Thomas P. O’Connor; and grandson David Michael Beres. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Villa in Lemont. Interment St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Friends may call at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Beres was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lansing and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
