Viola Nicholson, nee Jones, 91, of Evanston, IL, passed away on Dec. 31, 2002. Beloved mother of Nancy E. Rohn; grandmother of Graeme C. Rohn; and sister-in-law of Genevieve Jones. Viola was born Sept. 27, 1911 in Jersey City, NJ and had five brothers: Robert, Samuel, William, Walter and Kenneth, all of whom have passed away. The family moved to Toronto, Ontario, and then to Detroit, MI. Viola was active in the Masonic Fraternal Orders in Michigan. She was a life member of OES, Kindness #523, PWHP of Shepherd Shrine #49, PRM Amaranth #27 and PWC True Kindred Vesta #33. When she retired from employment with the City of Detroit and later Wayne County, a move was made to Evanston, where she has resided for the past 25 years. She continued her fraternal memberships and also joined the Oriental Shrine Karnak Court #17. Services will be held in Royal Oak Michigan under the auspices of Kindness Chapter #523.
