Harry Ossmo, retired Brigadier with the Salvation Army, died January 2, 2003 at Bethany Methodist Hospital in Chicago. Born 1913 in Nynishamn, Sweden, he immigrated to the U.S in 1947 with his wife Inga. They served the Salvation Army for over 41 years in the eastern and central territories; beloved husband of the late Inga K. Ossmo; loving father of Torre (Bonnie) and Lars (Christine); fond grandfather of Lisa (Timothy) Renken, Lars (Carrie), Kristina (Brian) Chaplin, Torre, Tim and Todd; greatgrandpa of Tanner, Chandler, Ariana, Derrick and Gunnar; brother of the late Sven, Gosta, Irma, Lennart, Sonya and Torsten. Visitation Sunday 3 to 9 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road (at Cumberland), Park Ridge. In state Monday, 9 a.m. until time of service 10 a.m. at the Salvation Army Norridge Citadel, 8354 W. Foster, Norridge. Interment Glen Oak Cemetery. Info 847-823-5122.
