Jay Williams dressed resplendently in a tan suit and black mock turtleneck on Monday night.
His outfit certainly looked better than his left ankle.
Williams’ sprained left ankle forced him to sit because of injury for the first time in his basketball career.
The injury gave Jamal Crawford his first start of the season and denied Williams a chance to match up with John Stockton. Williams said he planned to play Wednesday against the Wizards.
Pack your bags: Monday’s game marked the end of a season-high six-game homestand, one of two that began in December. Twelve of the next 15 games are on the road, where the Bulls are a league-worst 1-14.
Trading places: The Bulls left for Washington on their charter jet following Monday’s game and will practice on the Wizards’ home court Tuesday.
The Bulls typically fly at 4 p.m. the day before a game. But they made the change because President Bush is in Chicago on Tuesday and they didn’t want to be delayed by Air Force One.
