Orville Bomberg, 87, passed away December 30, 2002 in Pleasanton, CA. Born in Chicago, IL on February 19, 1915, he moved to the Bay Area in 1952. He has lived in Pleasanton, CA the last seven years. He enjoyed sports and played handball for many years at the YMCA in Oakland, CA and at the Elks Club in Alameda, CA. Orville played softball and basketball as well as handball in Chicago, IL. Orville is survived by his wife, Alice of Pleasanton, CA; daughter, Lynne of Pleasanton, CA; son, Richard of southern California; former daughter-in-law, Keiko Bomberg of Concord, CA; stepson, Ernie Batstone and his wife, Eva of Pleasanton, CA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Road., Pleasanton, CA. Interment will be at the Chapel of the Chimes, Oakland, CA. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
