This letter is addressed to the pro-life pickets who were outside Lutheran General Hospital a few weeks ago. As a pregnant mother of a 5- and a 2-year-old, I found their signs shameful. I’m all for freedom of speech, but to put pictures of dead fetuses on poster board was inappropriate and tasteless. I had to sit there at the red light and have to explain to a 5-year-old what the babies were doing.

They had no right to put me in that situation. They should think of the children already born when they demonstrate with posters and look at it through their eyes. Would they want to have to explain a poster like that?
