Britney Spears is in talks with a production company about playing a modern-day, female Sherlock Holmes, according to the Sun newspaper.
The film, “221bCAUSE,” casts the pop princess as a travel agent who works at Holmes’ old haunt, 221b Baker Street– now a travel agency–but starts answering letters addressed to the famed sleuth. Her adventures leads her back to the U.S. to save the president’s kidnapped son.
RedEye tracked down the screenwriter, Benjamin Trebilcook, who said London independent Auroramedia Features approached the singer’s Britney Spears Production about the film and is discussing selling his script.
“It’s funny. It’s thrilling. It’s like a female ‘Last Boy Scouts,’ ” said Trebilcook, who also is competing to write the next “Die Hard” flick.
