Robert L. “Bob” Callfas, age 75, of the Town of Edgerton, WI, passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 in Edgerton. He was born on Jan. 18, 1927 in Franklin Park, IL, the son of the late Lorne and Emma, nee Brown, Callfas. He was a graduate of Leyden High School, Franklin Park, IL, class of 1945, of which he was class president. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the Moose for many years. Bob was united in marriage on April 18, 1949 to “Cherie” Ohlhaber in Franklin Park, IL. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1995. A longtime resident of Bensenville, IL for over 30 years, before moving to the Edgerton area. Bob was a switchman for the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, garage sales, watching sports and spending time with his family. He also served on the board for the Mallwood Home Owners Association. He was a devoted father to three daughters, Jackie Rooney of Belvidere, IL, Jeannie (Raymond) Larson of Garden Prairie, IL and Sheryl (Susan) Callfas of Glendale Heights, IL; one son, Keith Callfas of Edgerton; he was also a caring grandfather of seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Bob was a fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, and a great friend to many. He was preceded in death by two sons, Wesley and Robert; one grandson, Jack; five sisters, Muriel, Dorothy, Winifred, Irma and Lorella; and three brothers, Cliff, Wesley, and Donald (Jack). The family would like everyone to join them for a reception at 712 Algonquin Ave., Bensenville, to celebrate his life on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, commencing at 1 p.m. The Ehlert-Ward Funeral Home, Edgerton, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
