John Nerad of Naples, FL, formerly of Riverside, died Dec. 13, 2002, at Hospice of Naples. Mr. Nerad, 98, was born Feb. 29, 1904 in Chicago. He was founder and chairman of TimeMed Labeling Systems, formerly Professional Tape Co., of Burr Ridge, and former owner of Vanderbilt Inn Naples. During his years in Illinois, Mr. Nerad was a strong supporter of the West Suburban YMCA and provided the funds to build and endow the YMCA Child Development Center of Burr Ridge. He is also recognized for his efforts on behalf of the Naples Area YMCA. Mr. Nerad was preceded in death by his wife Florence; and is survived by his daughter Susan (Francis) Sazama and son Jerry (Ann) Nerad; seven grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. A special Tribute will be held for Mr. Nerad on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at the YMCA Child Development Center of Burr Ridge, 7010 S. County Line Road, from 1 to 3 p.m. (one block west of intersection County Line Road and Carriage Way Drive). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Legacy Award, c/o YMCA Child Development Center of Burr Ridge.
