On TV, reality keeps getting weirder.

While Fox is preparing to air “Bridezilla,” an hour-long special about “matrimonial monsters,” the serious and legitimate-sounding Center for Rural Strategies in Whitesburg, Ky., spent $75,000 to run newspaper ads criticizing CBS’ proposed reality series “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

Yes, it’s all true.

“The brass at CBS clearly think it’s safe to make fun of and commercialize low-income rural folks,” center President Dee Davis said. “We intend to lessen their comfort zone and make them rethink this premise.”

But before that all gets hashed out, you can watch out-of-control brides from hell torment their loved ones–who’ve undoubtedly spent a fair share of money on wedding gifts–with temper tantrums and other antics at 7 p.m. Jan. 27, on Fox.
