I’ve been unemployed for more than a year. The unemployment benefits just passed by the Congress and signed by President Bush will not apply to me (“Bush signs bill to extend benefits for unemployed,” News, Jan. 9). I’ve gone back to school at my expense with no guarantee that a job will be forthcoming after I complete my retraining. I am living on my savings, which are dwindling at an alarming rate. I’m sure I am not the only one in this country facing this situation.
