Kudos to the Tribune for pointing out the absurdity of the upcoming mayoral inauguration–er, election–which features no credible opposition candidates. I was embarrassed, though, to read your Jan. 6 editorial “The illusion of an election” begging “Da Mare” to please debate or make a speech or say something to the public, telling us what he’s got planned for our city.
I’m afraid that only citizens of a democracy are entitled to that.
