William Lyons, Korean War Veteran, Artillery Staff Sergeant U.S. Army, Superintendent of construction, retired. Loving husband of the late Thelma Pauline Lyons, nee Arrowood; beloved brother of Gertrude Samojedny and Edward Lyons; devoted and loving father of Rick Lyons, Karen Hanawalt, Kathleen (Antonio) Ramirez and Betty (Richard) Hackett; loving grandfather of Reed and Kurt Hanawalt, Sarah, Carolyn, Gabrielle and Billy Ramirez, Maxwell and Samantha Hackett; very popular and dearly loved uncle of many. Member of Carpenters Local #62 for 46 years. Worked on a variety of construction projects throughout his career including Woodfield Mall, Water Tower Place including the Drury Lane Theatre, the Carnegie Theatre and renovations of the Wrig- ley Building and Lawry’s Restaurant. Throughout his years in the trades he was a friend and mentor to many. A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL, 708-636-1200 , on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
