Poland’s national airline LOT says it will buy 10 Brazilian-made Embraer jets for use on regional routes in central Europe. The first of the 70-seater Embraer ERJ170s will be delivered at the beginning of 2004. The planes are meant to bolster LOT’s position in the Central European market. LOT operates 14 smaller Embraer ERJ145 jets.
