– The 41st Annual Carquest World of Wheels custom-car show will be held Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in McCormick Place East. Custom cars, trucks, motorcycles, street rods, imports, race cars, antiques and other souped-up street machines will be vying for part of a total series purse of $85,000. Also scheduled are contests to rebuild a 4- or 6-cylinder engine by auto tech students from 30 Chicago-area high schools and technical colleges and BMX Bike stunt shows. World of Wheels will be open from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Jan. 31; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 1; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 2. Tickets cost $14 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. – The Illinois Region Model A Restorers Club presents its 18th Annual Winter Parts Swap Feb. 16 at the Kane County Fairgrounds, on Randall Road between North Avenue and Roosevelt Road. There will be more than 110 indoor spaces with more room outside. Admission to the swap meet, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is $5. Parking is free.
