– The 41st Annual Carquest World of Wheels custom-car show will be held Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in McCormick Place East. Custom cars, trucks, motorcycles, street rods, imports, race cars, antiques and other souped-up street machines will be vying for part of a total series purse of $85,000. Also scheduled are contests to rebuild a 4- or 6-cylinder engine by auto tech students from 30 Chicago-area high schools and technical colleges and BMX Bike stunt shows. World of Wheels will be open from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Jan. 31; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 1; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 2. Tickets cost $14 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. – The Illinois Region Model A Restorers Club presents its 18th Annual Winter Parts Swap Feb. 16 at the Kane County Fairgrounds, on Randall Road between North Avenue and Roosevelt Road.
