What a pleasure it is to get some non-controversial, old-fashioned good news on the front page. My heart was warmed and my smile emerged on a most frigid Monday morning commute when I read “MacArthur enriches city arts groups; Foundation picks 41 institutions to share $21.5 million” (Page 1, Jan. 13). Thank you to the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation for its gracious support of the many vital news and cultural institutions that make Chicago such a great city to live in.
