Melvin R. General, 82, died Wednesday, January 22 at Hemet Valley Medical Center. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, lived in Fox Lake, Illinois for 35 years and resided in Hemet, California 15 years. He was an upholsterer for Parenteau Studios in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attained the rank of Staff Sgt. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Dorothy; a son, Craig (Doris) McMullen of Moraga, California; daughters, Cathy St. Pierre of Golden, Colorado and Carol McMullen of Antioch, Illinois; and son, Chris (Connie) McMullen of Reno, Nevada; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack General of McHenry, Illinois. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
