Herbert I. ‘Herbie’ Gibson, of Chicago, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2003, he was the loving father of Lisa Bailey, Jennifer (Geoff) Talley and Allison; adoring grandpa to Ashley, Braedon and Reid; dear brother to Marilyn (Bud) Adkisson, Gail and Gwen (Paul) Hartsell; cherished uncle of Steven, David (Kristal) Adkisson and Sam Hartsell; dearly loved son of the late Grace and Herbert Gibson; beloved nephew, cousin and friend to many. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a loving, caring, generous, funny man who was always so full of life. He served in the Marine Corps. and was a 40 year employee of the Chicago Sun Times. He had a passion for Corvettes, Harleys and sailing. He sailed in the Chicago to Mackinac races many times.
