You have published several letters from various individuals complaining about “class warfare” in regard to the current tax cut proposals. I guess it’s an artifact of the American educational system in which otherwise reasonable people define a slightly reduced level of extortion against one group of people (the wealthy) as being a case of either class warfare against the poor, as an undeserved gift to the rich, or as a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich.

All of these examples are nonsense.

Allowing people to keep more of what they earn isn’t warfare against anybody; you can’t give a gift to someone of money that he or she earns. The wealth isn’t transferred–it stays right where it was earned. I hope everything is clear now.
