Kathleen Parker ends her column concerning the new rape law in California by bemoaning how contemporary culture has cast men as the cause of all our woes and ills (“Rape California-style is a woman’s prerogative,” Commentary, Jan. 15). Ironically, to me as a man, her column is one of the most insulting things I have ever read. According to Parker, men are weak-willed, violent Neanderthalswho are completely at the demands of their hormones. According to Parker, men are so stupid that they confuse “I need to go home now” with hot pillow talk. On the female side, Parker also believes that once a woman begins to have sex she is somehow contractually obligated to continue until the man is satisfied. Thus, according to Parker, all women are basically prostitutes.
