War protests have come a long way in America. It used to be that protests were just made against unpopular wars, like the Vietnam War. Today there are anti-war protests against war in general. Our citizenry has finally come to realize that all wars are very damaging and destructive, for the U.S. and for the world, even popular wars that we win.

The wars that we win today may create deep hatred and anger and a spirit of revenge in the people that we defeat, often resulting in additional wars at a future date.

So the best way to stop wars, which have plagued humanity since the beginning of time, is simply not to start them.
