Eleanor King Hookham, 93, of Elmhurst, beloved wife of the late Robert Ernest Hookham; cherished mother of Jane S. Blake, Tarrant K. (Jacque E.) Clements and the late Robert Peyton Hookham; grandmother of A. Copeland Blake III and Tarrant S. Blake. Her art career spanned 88 years including 35 one-man shows in New York and Paris, painting under the name El King. She received the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France Gold Medal. Recipient of the Sydney R. Yates Lifetime Achievement Award, bestowed by the Illinois Arts Alliance and she was the founder and driving force for 50 years behind the building of the Elmhurst Art Museum. Visitation at The Ahlgrim Funer- al Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27. Gathering of friends at Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 116 E. Church St., Elmhurst, from 12:30 p.m. until time of Service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery.
