Magda Wirth, nee Gmirek, a long time resident of Chicago, died in Tucson, AZ on January 15, 2003 in her 96th year. Born in Berlin, Germany, she came to the United States in 1934, where she married Otto Wirth. For many years Mrs. Wirth served as Secretary to the Vice President of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Her husband became Professor, Dean and Trustee of Roosevelt University. The Wirth’s retired to Tucson where Otto Wirth died in 1992. They are survived by six nieces and two nephews.
