Regarding affirmative action or quotas in connection with college entrance, one of the justifications is to achieve diversity in the student body. If diversity is good at the student level, shouldn’t it be just as necessary at the faculty level? Recent studies have shown that the preponderance of instructors and professors vote the Democrat line, far out of balance with the nation’s voters as a whole. It would seem that truly fair college presidents and deans should make every attempt to recruit new faculty members who have other political leanings.
