Lawrence M. Cox, M.D., age 71, of Westchester, beloved husband of Colette M., nee Streich; loving father of David (Bonnie), Susan (Mark) Johnson, Lisa Cox and Brian (Catherine); proud grandfather of Alexandra, Joseph, Thomas, Jonathon and Mackenzie Cox, Maria, James and Caroline Johnson; dear brother of John (Patricia), Joseph (Mary Ellen), James (Kathleen) and the late Raymond (Peggy Shanahan) and Ethelreda Cox; and friend to many. Dr. Cox is a retired physician with Elmhurst Memorial, where he served as president of the Medical Staff from 1980-1981, Vice President of Medical Staff from 1979-1980, Chairman of Department of Medicine from 1973-1974 and Trustee of Elmhurst Memorial from 1980-1981. Dr. Cox is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the President Society of Loyola University, former Chairman of the Board of Southwest Federal Savings Bank during 1992 and Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment private.
