Benjamin H. Janda, of Western Springs, passed to eternal life on January 28, 2003. He is mourned by his beloved wife of 46 years, Ruth, nee Milcezny; his loving son, Dr. David and his wife Elizabeth; his adored granddaughters, Allison and Kathryn; and his dear sister-in-law, Evelyn Milcezny. His kind smile and manner are already missed by his relatives and friends. As former President of B.H. Janda Construction, Inc., his life’s work will live on in the skyline of the City of Chicago. He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the V.F.W., the President’s Council of the University of Illinois, where he received his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1941. He was a life member of the Westchester Masonic Lodge #995, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite. Visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 West 55th Street, Countryside, where funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2003.
