Since the end of World War II, we have witnessed a thoughtful discussion of why the good people of Germany allowed Adolf Hitler to start an unprovoked war and impose extreme right-wing policies on his people, all in the name of defending the fatherland.

As our country marches toward the slaughter of innocents abroad, I fear that the next several decades will be spent considering why America allowed George Bush to do the same thing.
