Young Americans say the “intangibles” of a relationship–spending time alone together (90 percent) or having that special person take care of you when you’re sick (70 percent)–top the list of what’s most romantic, a national survey found.

The study also showed nearly eight in 10 young people believe in “true love,” but girls (83 percent) are more likely than boys (73 percent) to believe in the concept.

What’s most romantic, according to teens:

– Time alone together: 90%

– Caring or being cared for when ill: 70%

– Getting or giving flowers: 69%

– Eating at a nice restaurant: 62%

What’s least romantic:

– Wearing matching T-shirts: 6%

– Matching tattoos: 9%

– Eloping: 19%

– Getting or giving chocolate: 36%
