I’ve been trying to figure out why you print so many anti-war and anti-Bush letters. Because I have to say, after reading weeks and weeks of every possible objection to a fight in Iraq, not one person has convinced me that there is any moral or ethical justification for tolerating the duplicity and subterfuge of a monstrous, murderous Iraqi regime. In fact, I’d say some of your letter writers apply a rather strange morality to the situation.

The ultimate was Pete Thelen’s Feb. 10 letter calling President Bush–not Saddam Hussein–a rat. The venom in his letter was palpable.

If the anti-war folks have to stoop to such vile, vicious invective, they’re never going to convince me.
