Icecoldbeeratreds, the Bob Baffert-trained winner of last year’s Del Mar Futurity, was euthanized after breaking his shoulder during a gallop over the training track at Santa Anita. The 3-year-old, named for a popular restaurant across the street from the Del Mar track, had just resumed training after knee surgery. He was not nominated for the Kentucky Derby.
– The final offspring of 1977 Triple Crown champion Seattle Slew–a filly out of May Day Ninety–was born Wednesday at Swifty Farms near Seymour, Ind. Seattle Slew died last May 7.
