Last weekend’s war protesters made a valid point that Saddam Hussein poses no imminent threat–to them. As they openly gathered and marched through handsome public places, their only personal concerns were from the indirect possibility of terrorist Muslim reprisals.

Meanwhile Iraqi citizens are routinely imprisoned, tortured, murdered and experimented upon for far lesser displays of dissent.

Most ironically, the majority of Europeans seem to have forgotten that their own freedom of speech has, for more than 50 years, been guaranteed by the same American “cowboys” whom they vilify today.
