May is National Bicycle month, and the League of Illinois Bicyclists is sponsoring its annual License Plate Program in Illinois. Motorists can display these on their cars in place of their regular state plates in April and May. Approved by the secretary of State’s office, the set costs $25. Only 300 sets are issued each year. Proceeds help the league improve bicycle safety while working with state and local governments for better road and trail riding opportunities. For information and an application, visit www.bikelib.org or call 630-462-5427.
