What happened at the E2 nightclub was horrible and tragic. But I am astonished (though not surprised) that anyone is attempting to blame the Chicago Police Department.
As a taxpayer, I do not feel it is the job nor the responsibility of the Police Department to provide security in any way for a private establishment. I feel it is entirely up to the owner of a bar to provide adequate security and any outside company sponsoring a special event to supplement that security if needed.
Furthermore, I never understood why when something so horrible happens, it usually only takes mere hours for a wrongful death lawsuit to be filed.
