RISING

– QB Kyle Boller, California: He chose not to throw Sunday, but the 6-foot-3, 234-pounder ran a 4.6 in the 40 and definitely turned some heads with his speed.

WR Kevin Curtis, Utah State: Two sub-4.4s and a score of 48 out of

50 on the Wonderlic Intelligence Test might have secured first-day status.

OT Kwame Harris, Stanford: He’s a distant second to Utah’s Jordan Gross in terms of being a franchise bookend tackle, but at 6-7 and 310, Harris is legit.

WR Anquan Boldin, Florida St.:

Doubt the scouts liked the 4.8s that showed up on some watches.

Look out below.

G Vince Manuwai, Hawaii: Left the combine as the top prospect among interior

offensive linemen.

S Rashean Mathis, Bethune-Cookman:

Mathis, who had 14 interceptions for the Wildcats last season, apparently has convinced teams that he’s a safety and shouldn’t be experimented with at cornerback. He could go on the first day.

FALLING

– QB Ken Dorsey, Miami: The ’03 calendar year, starting with the upset loss against the Buckeyes, has turned into a nightmare for Dorsey, who was 37-2 as a starter with the Hurricanes. His warts–too skinny, horrible arm strength–here on display for everyone to see Sunday. Dorsey may not be drafted.

SS Michael Doss, Ohio State: He was a fierce hitter for the champs, but plenty of teams have concerns about a 5-10 guy playing, in essence, a walk-up linebacker spot.

DT Rien Long, Washington State:

With a chance to secure a top 15 spot, Long didn’t show the quickness and agility that made him such a great college player. He could be headed for a big fall.

QB Dave Ragone, Louisville:

Coming off a disappointing senior year, teams aren’t sure he should be carrying 249 pounds. But he did throw better than anticipated Sunday, so stay tuned.
