This is regarding “Armed pilots could be aloft by spring; Program would initially train 48 to carry firearms” (News, Feb. 20). We have put men on the moon. We have successfully landed more than 100 shuttle missions. Why can’t we engineer a door that is impregnable at the entrance of an airplane cockpit, rather than having to arm pilots? Let pilots fly.
