Does baseball have an impeachment process or mechanism to expel members from the Hall of Fame? If not, they should.
Joe Morgan, who slid into the Hall on the coattails of Johnny Bench and the “Big Red Machine,” had the gall to tell us that Ron Santo did not get into the Hall because “it is supposed to be difficult.” Morgan’s career average was seven points lower than Santo’s. He hit 74 fewer home runs and had 198 fewer RBIs, even though he played in 406 more games. If Santo does not belong in the Hall of Fame, then this pompous goof certainly does not belong, either.
