Softwaremaker Adobe Systems Inc. posted stronger-than-expected first-quarter sales and earnings Thursday.
It was the second consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth for the company, which publishes the popular Photoshop and Acrobat software titles.
For the three months ended Feb. 28, the company earned $54.2 million, or 23 cents a share, on sales of $296.9 million. In the same period last year, it earned $49.8 million, or 20 cents a share, on sales of $267.9 million.
Excluding special items, the company earned 25 cents a share, beating Wall Street estimates by 3 cents a share, according to Thomson Financial/First Call.
The report came out after the close of trading.
