Thank you for your thoughtful editorial “An education in citizenship” (March 31). Our nation has grown strong on the rule of law. The Illinois House’s vote to grant in-state tuition to illegal immigrants undermines the foundation that has made our country great.
It is a frightening thing when our state legislators ignore our federal laws in the interest of political expediency. I hope that the Senate will act more responsibly in considering the precedent of this legislation.
