Why spend all night at bars looking for that special someone when you can just get sleepy–very, very sleepy?

That’s right: Forget blind dates, online services and your mom’s dating suggestions and get hypnotized.

A New York dating service run by psychotherapist and hypnotist Dr. Lydia Belton puts clients under to reveal their true dating preferences.

Belton says singles think they are attracted to a certain “type,” but under hypnosis they disclose what they actually desire in a mate. Belton charges $500 to $1,200 for her service, which she believes “gets past all the stereotypes we set up for ourselves.”
