The upstart Anaheim Mighty Ducks have the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings in deep trouble.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 36 shots and Samuel Pahlsson and Stanislav Chistov scored as the Mighty Ducks beat the Red Wings 2-1 Monday night to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference series.
Only two other teams have come back to win a series when down 3-0.

Doug Weight had two goals and an assist, and the Blues held the Vancouver Canucks to 14 shots to take control of their opening-round playoff series with a 3-1 victory Monday night. The Blues, who also got a goal and an assist from Pavol Demitra, lead the series 2-1 heading into Game 4 on Wednesday night in St. Louis.
Ottawa 3, N.Y. Islanders 2, 2 OT
Ottawa leads series 2-1
Todd White’s second goal of the game 2:25 into the second overtime Monday night gave Ottawa a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders and a 2-1 series lead for the top-seeded Senators.
The Senators, who won the Presidents’ Trophy with 113 points–30 more than eighth-seeded New York–only need to win their remaining two home games to reach the second round for the second straight year.
Toronto 4, Philadelphia 3, 2 OT
Toronto leads series 2-1
Tomas Kaberle scored his second goal of the game at 7:20 of double overtime as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 on Monday night for a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
After Toronto’s Mats Sundin skated around the back of the net and put a shot on goalie Roman Cechmanek, Kaberle backhanded the rebound over Cechmanek.
Colorado 3, Minnesota 0
Colorado leads series 2-1
In the first playoff game the Twin Cities has hosted since 1992, Alex Tanguay’s early first-period goal got Colorado going Monday night, and a stellar Patrick Roy (18 saves) did the rest for a 3-0 victory over the Wild. Game 4, also in St. Paul, is Wednesday night. The series shifts back to Denver for Game 5 on Saturday afternoon.
