I have a suggestion for Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig: To protect our baseball athletes, especially great ones like Sammy Sosa, fine the offending pitcher who hits the batter in the head $10,000, and mandate a suspension of at least four games (“Sosa OK after scary beaning,” Sports, April 21). Subsequent offenses by that same pitcher would receive commensurately greater penalties.
