Recent warm weather started my gardening juices flowing. Standing out on the balcony, I remembered a day last summer when my window boxes were overflowing with flowers that were drinking water like marathon runners on a hot summer day.

I was doing my best to meet their needs. After emptying the third watering can, my attention was drawn to a blind woman who had reached the corner of our very busy intersection. White cane … no dog.

Intellectually I thought, This is interesting. I wonder how she will do this.

Emotionally I thought, I have to go down there and help her.

Just as I made that decision, two knights in shining armor crossed the street against the light and took over.

They went out of their way to help her to safety. Warm feelings!
