This is regarding “Health care eludes veterans; As more seek aid, getting 1st appointment with VA doctor can take years” (Page 1, May 11). It is unconscionable that we are somehow able to find $15 billion to contribute to the global AIDS crisis while our own veterans wait years for basic health care in a “persistently underfunded health system [that] struggles with an unprecedented demand for services amid a national crisis of skyrocketing medical costs.” What version of the American Dream is this?
