There’s a fine line between clever and stupid, so it’s not surprising that “This is Spinal Tap” has topped a poll of the Top 50 cult movie hits conducted by Entertainment Weekly magazine.

The 1984 movie beat out the 1975 rock opera “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for the top spot.

Rounding out EW’s top five were:

3. The 1932 horror flick “Freaks”

4. Love story “Harold & Maude” (1971)

5. “Pink Flamingos,” John Waters’ 1972 exercise in poor taste.

We noticed a few classics that didn’t make the list: “A Clockwork Orange” (1971), “Blue Velvet” (1986), “Life Of Brian” (1979) and “P.C.U.” (1994).
