William Ligue Jr. pleaded guilty Tuesday to tackling and punching a Kansas City Royals coach during a White Sox game last year in what was then called Comiskey Park.

Ligue’s decision was not based on a plea deal with prosecutors or sentencing arrangement with the judge, attorneys in the case said. The 35-year-old Alsip man faces up to 5 years in prison when he is sentenced June 18 on aggravated battery charges.
