Thanks for “Toll cheater crackdown brings cries of outrage; Late notification, fat fines blasted” (Page 1, June 7), by staff reporter Virginia Groark. Our society uses the honor system in many financial transactions, including the tollway, income taxes and even the number of newspapers customers take from a vending machine. It never ceases to amaze me that when serial violators are caught, they try to portray themselves as victims because the authorities should have apprehended them earlier.

Please folks, when you get caught cheating, own up to it.
