The current Patriot Act, enacted in 2001, includes possible secret arrests of unidentified prisoners for unspecified “terrorist” crimes. These prisoners can be held at unnamed locations for indefinite periods of time with no access to legal representation or counsel. If this is American democracy and justice, we don’t have to bring it to Iraq; they’ve had the same thing for a long time.
